Signature of new Solvay EWC agreement
Solvay’s European Works Council (EWC) Secretary, Marco Roumen, and Solvay Representative, Patrick Marichal, have signed a new agreement for the EWC ( framework for the representation of Solvay employees in Europe).
EWC actions will focus on the following :
- Employees in all countries covered have a voice company decision-making.
- The interests of employees from all countries are covered.
- Employees in all countries covered have access to information and training on the EWC.
Solvay signs Global Performance Sharing agreement for 2024
On April 25th the Chief People Officer, Mark van Bijsterveld, on behalf of the Solvay management, and Marco Roumen, on behalf of the Solvay Global Forum, signed the Global Performance Sharing agreement for 2024.
Solvay Shares receives high commendation at the annual Newspad Awards
At the 2022 Newspad Awards, Solvay received a high commendation in the ‘Best All-Employee Plan in a Large Company’ category for its Solvay Shared initiative. The awards recognize the achievements of companies that offer employee share plans and set best practices for other companies to follow.
The judges commended Solvay’s use of ‘Local Champions’, and the Group’s willingness to operate outside of the normal range of locations for share plans.
The agreement provides a framework for management and employee representatives to engage with these issues locally to achieve detailed joint action plans, and defines the principles that Solvay should follow to achieve a successful implementation of digital projects on a global scale.

Solvay signs Global Performance Sharing agreement for 2023
Solvay has signed an agreement to continue its Global Performance Sharing Program.
Based on quantitative and qualitative criteria, non-cadre employees worldwide will be able to benefit from a profit-sharing plan linked to the Group’s performance. With the program, the Group wants to recognize employees’ contributions and foster a strong sense of belonging among the global workforces.

Solvay extends Solvay Cares program with new compassionate care agreement
Solvay has extended its Solvay Cares benefit package with a new agreement that provides additional paid leave to employees who need to care for a loved one during work hours in case of unexpected event. Thanks to the agreement, employees will not have to sacrifice their personal annual leave to care for close loved ones in unforeseen circumstances. The agreement comes into effect from September 2023 and applies to all workers worldwide.
